Many trickers choose to keep journals, and write down their combos.  Below is a list of TKT short-hand transitional tags that will speed up this task.  It should also be noted that transitions with 2 symbols, such as carrythrough, are extensions, or secondary forms of their single-symbol counterparts.  In the case of the bound transition, one symbol is used, incorporating the other 3 transitions’ symbols in it.  Understanding this relationship may help with learning, remembering, and using these tags.

TKT Transitional Shorthand:

  • Pop: =
  • Punch: –
  • Reverse Pop: “
  • Bound: #
  • Swingthrough: +
  • Carrythrough: ++
  • Missleg: ^
  • Rapid: ^^
  • Vanish: >
  • Skip: >>
  • Reversal: <
  • Redirect: <<

Because wrap isn’t really part of the TKT system, +++ could be used for this transition, or a simple + to note a swingthrough.
